Oshala Farm is a 290-acre, Regenerative Organic Certified family farm located in Oregon's Applegate Valley. Operated by Elise and Jeff Higley, the farm grows over 80 varieties of medicinal and culinary herbs.
The farm was co-founded in 2013 by Elise Higley, whose background is in western herbal medicine, and Jeff Higley, who has a strong history in vegetable farming. They manage and tend the fields alongside their son, Will, and a dedicated team.Β
On July 6, as their crew was getting ready to head home, a fire broke out at Oshala Farm. Thankfully, everyone is safe. But in a few short hours, the fire took nearly everything. They lost their drying barns, storage facilities, processing equipment, coolers, mechanic shop, and the vast majority of their harvested herbs. Their fields survived, but much of the infrastructure needed to harvest, dry, process, and store those herbs did not.
Oshala Farm is one of the top 10 farms that Well Seasoned Table sources ingredients from. Many of our business peers also source from them. This is a huge loss to our herbal community and heartbreaking to the folks on site at Oshala who have put everything into this farm and our larger herbal community. Next week, we will be sending the Oshala Farm team some love from Appalachia. Purchase Smoky Mountains Grilling Rub, featuring rosemary sourced from Oshala Farm, and we will donate 50% of sales to these beautiful humans to help them rebuild.
PurchaseΒ Smoky Mountains Grilling Rub for a taste of Oshala Farm and to support our fundraiser for them the weekend of July 10-12th, 2026.
