Cuban Black Beans
This is an easy but delicious way to kick up your dinner! Cuban black beans are a classic side dish for pork, chicken, or as a main dish over rice. It is budget friendly, filling, and comforting on a cold winter day.

But if you're in a hurry and need a quick black bean side dish on the go, don't worry! We've got you covered there too! Just sauté a handful of chopped onions, peppers, and garlic in a large sauté pan. Add one can of black beans with liquid. Then add about 2 tsp. of the WST Cuban Seasoning and salt to taste. Simmer for about 15 minutes until hot and fragrant. Serve and wow the crowd!
1 1-Lb. bag Dried Black beans, picked over and rinsed
1 small Yellow onion, chopped
1/2 Green bell pepper, deseeded and chopped
4 cloves Fresh garlic, minced or chopped
2 Tb. Well Seasoned Table Cuban Seasoning
2 Tb. Olive oil
For garnish: extra onions, cilantro, or chopped tomato. Or an extra sprinkle of Cuban Seasoning. Get creative!
About 5 quarts of water
Salt to taste.
In a large pot, sauté onions and peppers in olive oil for about 5 minutes.
Add garlic and cook for a minute or two.
Add in dried black beans and Cuban seasoning.
Cover with about 5 quarts of water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer, covered, stirring occassionally for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours or until beans are tender.
Add salt to taste.
